Hobby Caravan is a family-run manufacturer from Fockbek, Germany, known for building caravans and vans with quiet precision, independence, and pride. Their products reflect a long tradition of craftsmanship, yet the company continues to push for what comes next.
In our collaboration, we worked closely with Hobby’s engineering team to take on a space that is often overlooked but technically among the most complex in any vehicle: the washroom.
Our ambition was to create a true shower experience within compact vehicles without sacrificing comfort, usability, or aesthetics. Integrating plumbing, heating, ventilation, and structure into just a few square meters demanded more than good design. It required deep collaboration across disciplines.

Standard components quickly reached their limits, so we rethought the architecture from the inside out. Every surface, joint, and material had to earn its place, balancing function, manufacturability, and readiness for production.
Working side by side with Hobby’s in-house team, a group of sharp engineers and dedicated makers, we moved from the first sketch to a finished prototype in under six months.
The result is two fully reimagined washrooms, unveiled at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, proving that even the most hidden spaces can shape how a vehicle feels.

Let's create fewer, but better.
